I own and ibanez RG370DX blue color for about 6 months
first of all i'm thinking of changing the lower 2 pickups(their name is INF4)with some else much better for lower tunings such as drop c with better and much more metal sound.
i would also like some help on how to lock my tremolo because its very annoying when trying to tune the guitar in drop with 10/52 strings
GUYS PLEASE give me some help!

Edit:i mean the humbucker pickups

well... you lock the tremolo by putting a obstruction between the bridge and the actual guitar... (in the back cavity)

i don't know about pickups

All that theory my guitar teacher tries to drill into my head just gets buried under piles of porn and I never manage to apply any of it

Well you could just block of the trem, with a block of wood the right size.

I think your best be for the money is to BUY SOMETHING THATS NOT A LOW END RG! *Phew*...

Seriously, your gonna replace both pick ups and tremelo, just buy a better metal guitar, Jackson makes some pretty good ones, I own it... If you get a decent ESP, you'll be better off as well...

But say you buy 2 new pickups, that could be from $100-$200
I have no idea what a tremelo bar costs, but most likely $50-$150
Someone to install pickups for you $45-$60
Someone to install tremelo $65-$85

But if you really love your RG, or something, go for it, If I were you I'd just buy a mid ranged Jackosn, ESP, or Epiphone though...

You will hear good things about most things it all on your own personal taste.

You should play guitars with different pickups in to see which ones you like.

Try GFS pickups from guitarfetish.com they're cheap and from what I hear, good.

btw they're cheap because they don't go through big distribution companies and stuff like that, not because they are total scrap.

Yeah gfs pups are great. I just finished my mahogany strat build and their dream 180's blew me away I can't believe how good they sound and they both sound great playing clean or metal. I'm pretty sure I'm going to like them more than the dimarzio pups in my tiger build.

i am also thinking of getting those humbuckers from epiphone les paul prophecy
what's your opininion???
can i have GFS nexk pickups along with those humbuckers with my 5-way knob???
so i can select either the lower 2 or the upper two
btwthanks for showing me how to lock my tremolo!

But seriously, TS, you might consider looking into DiMarzio's D-Sonic for the bridge, as it's specifically designed for the voicing demands of dropped tunnings, hence the name drop sonic.

sorry for bumping
but someone can guide me through that page???
thx!!

Edit:
Is it possible as i said to have those humbuckers from the epiphone les paul Prophecy(great guitar!!!! )and have some other neck pickups from guitar fetish??
(Watch this vid to hear the sound from those pickups http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvHVhCWhAa0&feature=channel
Btw its in drop c)
Doesnt my 5-way switch chose in the 1st switch only the humbuckers and in 5th switch only the neck??
Whats the cost of those humbuckers from LP??
Dam it's difficult to pick pickups!

what's the cost of those?

Why the **** are you looking at getting new pickups if you have no idea how anything works? ._.

And no, you can't put 4 humbuckers in an HSH guitar -_-

And again, no, GFS pickups sounds like a dog with it's dick in a vacuum.

I tried it out in store.

Great neck, nice n light, good tuning stability. Overall a good guitar. I didn't but it cause I generally only buy guitars over a grand now.

Wait, I'm sorry, this emote doesn't do it.

Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...
