so i'm probably going to be looking for a new amp soon. i want a half stack that had a really good distorted tone but that is also versatile, as i play everything, but mostly metal. i don't want to go over 700/800ish range if i can help it. so ug, i turn to you. give me some input.

you really dont need a halfstack. it will just be a major inconvenience in the long run to move it around

but if you insist,

I understand the preference of a half stack, but in that price range... you'll REALLY be skimping out on either a good head or good cabinet.

A good NEW 4x12 alone will cost close to $500. $300 heads, even used, are not going to be anything spectacular... unless you find an Ultra.

Go used, and you may be able to find something...

Halfstacks are like Porsches.
They look good.
They are powerful.
They are expensive.
They aren't practical.
You look like a **** turning up to band practice in one.
You buy them to make up for the lack of length of your penis.

Try your friends bugera out! If you like it buy one! If not theres plenty more amps out there.

my next door neighbour has one and my mum swears AT it
but yh, i know i cant talk with my unnesary 100watt valveking, but i dont see the deal with half stacks, what is the difference between a combo and a half stack other than a half stack looks like a beast.
either full stack or combo.
if u have 700-800 as ur budget, u obviously arent getting much money for your gigs, meaning they arent big gigs, meaning u dont NEED a half stack

see, now you need a half stack to make up for a small penis when you don't need a half stack for small gigs... the problem with your penis theory is that i need it for small gigs because my combo isn't powerful enough for the next one we're playing. too big of a gig and too small of an amp.

yeah haha... they're not big but they are perfect for a half stack. i need one for an upcoming gig so idk. im just looking for good power and tone. i need it to have good tone at loud volumes and i play usually really high gain.

Combo's are loud enough to fend for themselves in stadiums, so it can't be that big of a gig!
Plus if it's a big place they will mic them up.

The bugera combo and head's are exactly the same power!

The amount of speakers don't increase volume either.
