Hi
I'm looking to buy a new guitar in the near future.

keeping in mind I play metal i would like some advise on what to get
I can't stand RG's or anything remotly strat like. I love LP's, most esp's. The thing is i want a non trem 24 fret guitar without having to make some custom order (then again if anyone knows a company that will make one cheap leave a comment)

my price range is anything up to £800 mebe more at a push but less is better.

cheers in advance.

that seems to be the only one that suits me, its quite good but after trying it out i realised 24 frets on a 24.75 scale takes some getting used to. . . but then if its good enough for behemoth its more than likely good enough for me.

although I'd prefer a (non-dean) pointy

A pointy les paul? do they make those?

Anyway go with the EC-1000 for a 24 fret LP, if you decide you dont need those two frets, theres a few more options

lol no i meant a pointy guitar (EX, V etc) or a LP just not a strat. I do need the two frets as i tune down a step for my band and was used to having 24 frets, since changing guitars i miss them dealry.

The only problem with the EC-1000 is the 24th fret access looks horrible

yeah the access on the ec is a bit difficult to deal with. if you plan on plying the 22-24 it wouldn't be a good choice.

I really would like the upper access. Next time i'm at one of the (few) guitar shops in Scotland that stock these ill try it out for longer (concentrating on that issue)
