Hi,

I searched but can't find specific answer. I have a mates strat i'm setting up. only problem is i can't get the bridge flat. I've tried to tighten the screws in the back and then tune up but the bridge isn't really moving much. How do i start off? It's about 40 degrees off the body and in perfect tune. lol help! Thanks

If they are really old strings yeah, when strings get old they tend to be more taught and can lift the bridge.

You could also try adjusting the Spring Claw on the back of the guitar

Slacken the strings, tighten the screws, tune up. That should work. If not put another spring in there.

Also, the trem shouldn't be perfectly flat against the body. Unless the player wants it that way of course.
