I'm looking for a bass similar to the Warwick Thumb, only with a cheaper price tag. There's no way i could get $4000 anytime soon. I'm thinking my max price limit would be $1000, although maybe i could spooge a little over that. What's a good bass(Active preamp im guessing) that has a similar sound to the thumb in this price range?

Squier Bullet

Excuse me sir, have you been thinking tonight?

You can look into a used Thumb BO specifically and that should match the price somewhat. The closest thing to a Thumb clone is a Dean Sledge.... echh.

Also, a bubinga Corvette has somewhat similar tonal ideas than the Thumb, but there's nothing like the real thing.

I was looking at a used Warwick Vampyre LTD 5'er for about $200. I went home to grab my wallet and came back and some jerk with an epic beard got it already..

One can definately track down a used Thumb BO in that price range, especially in today's economy.
