I own a LTD M100 with humbucking esp pups but I would like to install some active pups. Can I do this? I mean , the guitar does not have the 9v slot, then I should take it to a luthier right?

There is normally space in the guitars control cavity for a 9v battery or two.

Take the cavity cover off and see if a battery will fit in there, simple.
