Hey guys,

I've been thinking i need a metal guitar with a whammy, and as an alternate to my Explorer.

So heres what i want to know, does anyone make a guitar thats similar in shape to a double cutaway Les Paul with the longer horns, or one of those Shecters like that, with a Floyd Rose, or similar, pickups similar to the Gibson 500T humbuckers, and either in off white, or a darker sunburst?

So you're probably lookin' at Duncans, correct?

Let me look around, I'll edit when I find some.

EDIT:

With a trem bar, I would go Ibanez. You could always go Strat, if you want.

Sorry, the period is ending (still in school, I love photo class), so I can't look more right now. Good luck though!

So, i redid my search on the Shecter's, and i like the S-1 a lot, exept for the lack of a vibrato.
As for the Ibanez RG1570, i don't really care for the neck's on RG's, they just don't feel right. Plus i don't really want a superstrat style.

only the hellraiser series have EMGs. god, everyone thinks that... All of the other Schecters that aren't hellraisers either have SD's, Duncan Designed, or Diamond pickups...

I've noticed that, but they also don't have the bodystyle i want with a Floyd.

If you want a metal guitar with (or even without) a floyd rose, why dont you check out a Jackson Dinky on musiciansfriend.com theyve got a ton of models and some actually have EMGs and a floyd rose or i think some Seymore Duncans if im not mistaken..

What kind of body shape would you want? You said something non-Strat like, or at least nothing too close, right?

Something similar to this,

With a floyd, or something similar, no EMG's or other active pickups, and prefferably HH configuration.

Edit,
And not such an Ibanez-ish neck, i'm used to Fenders and Gibsons.

why don't you get a LP double cut, take it to a pro and get him to install a floyd. or you could do it yourself and save heaps....

Does Epi sell one? I don't really want to spend that much money to get the Gibson.

I'm gonna suggest the best quality/price option and say go for a Warmoth build.Get an LPS body routed for an original FR trem and a neck with the contour and wood you like then find a pair of Gibson pups or something with a similar tone and you're all set.It may cost more, but you don't have to buy every part at once and you'll end up with a higher quality custom instrument.

If i go the Warmoth route, i'll end up spending well over $1000, which is WAY over my budget.

So maybe one of those Shecter double cutaway's, or a Epi LP DC? Does Epi make double cuts?

Also, what are the thoughts on like a double cutaway LP JR style, and doing some major work to it?
