Wait, you sanded the frets off? You didn't pull them out, you sanded them down?

He hasn't done that yet, according to the context of his post.

And there probably are more steps, just Google it.
I love Foxy Shazam more than you.

Dont sand them down

pull them out, clean the slots, either fill the slots with wood filler or glue in thin strips of hardwood and then sand flush.

I'm not being a douche. There have been too many of these threads that can be easily answered by using the searchbar recently, and it's annoying to see more, when there have been recently active threads about this subject that the question could have been asked in. Had he used the searchbar, every one of his questions in this thread would have been answered immediately in every thread.

In the style of deftonesordie

1. youtube
2. search = fretless guitar
3. 1250 hits
4. watch some
5. decide if you think it 'works'
6. WIN!

(but no sanding frets will take far too long, just remove them then fill them then sand them smooth like said above. Maybe treat the wood depending on what kind it is. Those are the steps.)

cons - more difficult to achieve correct notes (finger placement)
pros - allows correct notes to be played (not limited to fret placement)
#14
If yo did just file down the frets, then the wood and the metal would wear at different rate and cause problems.

Pull the frets and fill the slots, as described by Absent Mind.
