depends. Some people are into those guitars others are not. Back in the day Japan made a lot of "department store" guitars that were not (and still not by some) considered to be very good. However they did make some quality rip-off/lawsuit models of popular guitars (obviously this one isn't). I don't know a whole hell of a lot bout this stuff to give you much advice. Personally I bought a cheap vintage Asian guitar of eBay as a project but haven't finished so I can't be much more help.

cant say much about that guitar in particular, but ive played a couple of guitars by suspiciously named companies like that which have actually surprised me. itll probably do with a pickup change but as you might like it. ive always wanted to get a guitar like that for a project guitar.

also, thats a pretty nice looking guitar. reminds me of a jaguar kinda, though id change the pickguard and neck pretty quickly.

Go for it. Nothing wrong with sinking that little into a no name vintage mystery that could end up surprising you.

Kawai isn't exactly a no-name brand. They're very well known for their pianos and keyboards. Sure, they don't make guitars anymore, and were never famous for them, but they're a good company with a good reputation.

will it sound ok ? atleast better than my squier ?

and my whole point is that if it rly has any value as a vintage guitar ?

It might sound better than your Squier; I really don't know.

I'm fairly sure that it's not that valuable. It's an old Japanese guitar from the '60s. They're cool, sure, but they aren't rare at all. I'd buy the thing and mod the hell out of it if I were you.
