So I have a Paul Reed Smith Ce-24 and I have 10-46 strings on it. Im more of a metal player and want to upgrade to 10-52 since i play a lot in drop D and the strings on my guitar are just too flappy. Whats the pros and cons of getting thicker strings? Thanks.
Pros: higher string tension when in lower tuning

cons: VERY slightly harder to play because of higher tension

but very slight especially the change that you've suggested
I have 10-46s on my MH and string tension is fine, wonder why yours are loose.

You may have to adjust the trussrod if the extra tension from the strings bends the neck...
