i have a white peavey wolfgang special. i am wanting to refinish. it has a few small dings in it(was like that when i got it). i am going to be putting on a wolfgang standard neck and was thinking of refinishing the body. my question is, would it be ok to fill the dings and repaint or should i strip it down to bare(sp?) wood before doing so? the main reason i ask is because i am not sure if adding the extra layer of paint would hurt the tone of the guitar itself....

Yeah, sand it down to bare wood first, just because then it'll be easier to fill and will stick... But no,more paint wouldn't affect it all too much on a solidbody: Of course 1/8" plastic coating like is on some guitars will sound worse than the thin layer of nitro on a Gibson, but the difference is still just minimal

Anyone else see the irony in smashing a guitar that says "peace and love" ?
