So I sold my amp and now I have to buy a new one obviously. I'm looking at the Epiphone Valve Jr or Blackheart Little Giant both combo versions. I either want to get the valve Jr and mod it: new tubes, speaker, maybe transformer. Or get the Blackheart and do nothing to it. Which option would leave me with the better amp and more money?

Get the Blackheart. It sounds better, is more tweakable, and is freaking loud.

I have a Blackheart Little Giant. I absolutely love it.

Well, I have the halfstack version, but there can't be that much of a difference, right?

IMO, the halfstack looks cooler, and it's the same price as the combo. Of course, combos are more convenient to carry around and such, so I can see where that would be an advantage.

Either way, Blackheart all the way.

^ Yes, I have a Epi JR., with BitMo mods done to it, but the Vox is awesome.

It's not even out yet, how can both of you reccomend it
do you want TS to wait until april to have an amp?

People recommending amps they have never heard or played through is a huge problem here. Buyer beware.

Stock vs stock...the Blackheart. Modded VJ vs stock Blackheart....VJ. They're essentially the same amp. Most of the mods for one will apply for the other. Just buy which ever one you like best and mod it.

The amp comes out in February, so the wait won't be that long, The TS just asked for suggestions on small tube amps and I said that I would wait for the Vox AC4TV.

It's true, I personally haven't play the amp I recommended, but that doesn't mean it's a bad suggestion. I was just pointing out what I would consider a better use of money. I'm of course relying on the brand name of Vox, and assuming that it would be a worth the money, but in the end it was merely another option for the TS to look into.

Okay I'm done.
