Err...if this is against the rules you have my sincere apologies, *cue Asian voice* I no try to make twubble!

Anyway, I usually stay away from downloading .rar files, but I'm desperate for this game (and it has no negative comments on the torrent site) so i'm going for it. My question is, If i download it and run it on my external hard-drive rather than my C: drive, will it be isolated it if its full of nasty Trojans and the like? Or can it still attack my whole computer?

Thanks!

Pooping is well good though, to be fair.

What i would suggest doing,
is download or invest if your doing
alot of downloading and are worried about
security, in some sort of anti-virus program that will
scan file contents, i personally use mcaffe and found it to
be extreamly helpful in such matters as these, that way,
even if it does contain a nasty virus, you can scan it before you
open it and if it does, then delete the program, if it doesnt,
go nuts with it lol

but for the question that you asked, im not sure if it
would be isolated or not, it depends how the program runs,
i would do what i said above first just to be certain,
and the same for all files that your downloading

Thing is I have to extract the files, which means my anti-virus software (AVG and McAfee) can't scan it yet I don't think.

EDIT -

Get this and scan the file before you extract it.

And stop being racist.

Thankyou kind sir. I shall buy you a drink if ever I meet you.

Nope, it can scan rar files. I just checked.

Even so..
Extracting a .rar file doesnt release virus and stuff..
Most of the time virus comes from running .exe files and the like
