I posted this in the New York thread but I felt a lot of people wouldn't see it so:

Name's Steve.

Just a "small" biography and what I'm looking for.

15 year old guitarist looking to start or join an extreme metal band. I go to Hauppauge High School. I also do a bit of guttural and shriek vocals (Death/Black metal style), but I haven't really utilized vocals as much, so I'm going mostly for guitar. I have tons of influences (which you can see most in my profile), including Necrophagist, Cannibal Corpse, Kalmah, Gorgoroth, Immortal, Wintersun, Finntroll, just to name a few. I'm a huge fan of death metal, black metal, melodeath, folk, viking, melodic black, technical/progressive death, symphonic black metal, some grindcore, and more. I'm really only into extreme metal when it comes to playing, and I mean extreme. I got a BC Rich Warlock which I honestly love. I don't care if people say they suck, because their opinions are garbage. I have a Line 6 Spider 3 amp, and I'm willing to travel. For my short time of playing, I've gotten to what alot of people would say is amazing. I practice at least 2 hours every day. I don't really use pedals. I used to borrow my friend's, but he moved. But pedals aren't really necessary, except maybe stomps. Anywho, I'm willing to travel around Suffolk, and most ages from 13 - 18 I'm fine with. I'm mature, but I'm not some serious dick. Also, please, no pussies. If corpsepaint is too scary for you, even if you don't listen to black metal, you should kill yourself. I'm just saying I'm willing to go for anything.

Willing to travel to Sydney, Australia? Haha nah. You have a mad music taste dude, but you may find it difficult to find others with the same taste AND are good enough the play the music, particularly for Necrophagist and Nile. If you like really extreme stuff you should check out Anaal Nathrakh. Probably the most extreme music I have ever heard, you'd prolly like it.

Anyone?

I'm open to anything within extreme metal. And please, if you're like "metal is awesome, I love *insert crappy metalcore/numetal band such as ATR, A7X, KSE, Slipknot, etc. here*, turn away now, unless you're really open to something a "bit" more brutal. I've had my share of people with metalcore/nu-metal favorites and I'm forced to deal with them, since Suffolk is full of queer emo and screamo bands, and I have no other choice.

Damn, I wish I lived near you. I am also looking for someone interested in metal such as this, as well as the usage of corpse paint. To many death metal type of bands walking on stage dressed in Abercrombie and Fitch. Seriously, this is why I despise local band's shows around my area.

Trust me, Long Island is worse. We're pretty much the capitol of queer music. All those bands originate from here so we have to deal with it. There's like one progressive death metal band a few minutes away from me and that's all I know of. But I saw on a classifieds someone's starting a black metal project.

You're lucky though. With like millions of people, you have so many musical opportunities. I live in a suburban neighborhood where everyone thinks they're so ****ing br00tal because they listen to Emmure or Escape the Fate.
