So I am in the market for a new Electric. I am looking around the $500 range and it has to be a Fender...I have my reasons for that. What are your suggestions?

That is what i am trying to decide. I play mostly country and classic rock so i am leaning towards a strat.

teles are excellent for country and classic rock there is something about the rythm pup that is amazing. alot of classic rock guitarists use teles like keith richards. but strats are excellent for alot more heavier stuff like hendrix. if u ask me since u play country and classic rock u should get the tele

buddy, you're being too close-minded. why does it have to be a fender? why does it have to be new? go out and play something before narrowing yourself so much.

Lets just say i know people...

That makes no sense. If you know people, then you should be able to get a much more expensive guitar for that price. Or whatever guitar you're looking for free.

But at that pric range, you're pretty much looking at a (MIM) Standard Stratocaster. Or a MIM tele.
