Hey there. I've read a couple of EQing tutorials and the "Ultimate settings thread", but i'm searching for something a little more basic.

What i'd like to know is a recommendation of general settings applied to certain genres of music.
Like, settings that would fit and sound good with music of those styles in general, not to a specific band.
You know, the feeling of that genre.

I'd like to know generally good EQ settings for:
- Thrash Metal;
- Death Metal;
- Deathcore;
- Rock, Grunge-type (Pearl Jam, Nirvana, stuff like that);
- Old-school punk;
- Modern punk.

Example:
- Thrash Metal - Treble: x / Middle: y / Bass: z

Please use 1 to 10 values, not "o'clock"!
I know many of you will think this is a stupid request, but please help me!
Thank you!

the bands in those genres probably are a good example of how to get the feeling of said genre...

Yes, but they're a little too defined. Some have more bass, others pump the mids...
I want to hear opinions from people.
That way, the idea is more diffuse, more comprehensive.

death metal - most just push their bass and treble to almost max, and pull back on mids to about 2 or 3
I'LL ALWAYS NEED THIS

Amigo,

Para Thrash Metal, experimenta algo do genero: Agudos: 8/10 Medios: 5/6 e Graves: 7/8
Death Metal, Agudos e Medios a 10, Graves 6
Deathcore pode ser o mesmo que o Death Metal ou deixa os agudo a 6 e poe os graves ao maximo.

É mais nestes generos que posso ajudar xD

Believe it or not i can get a near enough exact Pearl Jam tone with my strat through a Boss DS-1 and a Vox AC30. I would tell you the levels but Vox eq's are just completely different to every other amp it would mean nothing to you.
