hey
so its new guitar time, an it turns out im pretty low on ideas.
i would like a new guitar
-that leans more towards a clean/crunchy sound. It will not be used for metal or much AC/DC. Clapton would be my favourite artist.
-No EMGs
-I already tried out fender, but it just didnt suit me, Fender:
-It has to look good. Shecter blackjack C-1 has an awesome look.
-500$ max, caus im pretty low in budget right now.
-I leaned more over a shecter, or an Ibanez,
and im pretty much stranded...

Help!

No Fenders ever. Hmmm, I'm not sure here, I was going to suggest a C-1 Classic, but I'm pretty sure that's over your limit. Good call on Schecter and Ibanez, though. I'll check back if I think of anything.
Save a trip to the RT!

Out of curiosity, which Fender did you try? They all have a different feel.

Anyway, I'd go for either an Epiphone Dot, a G-400(Epi SG) or, depending on which Fender you tried, a standard tele or strat.

I'd try an Ibanez RG350DX

Not this though, awful bridge system.

Is there any black people on UG?
I don't think a lot of black people play guitar anymore.

You seem to resemble me a lot in influence so I'll sort of lead you where I went. I love the Les Paul model and tonality (pretty heavily KC blues influenced so yeah...take that for what it is) and ended up buying a Les Paul 2008 Studio maplewood natural finish. Cost me 1k but I'd go for a decent Epiphone Les Paul if they can meet your expectations in playability, but you'd have to look for the right woods.

I'd take an Epiphone LP over anything from Gibson LP Custom or lower.
Gibson have awful quality control and have done for a while now, they don't even have any wood left in the body anymore, it's practically hollow.

I would say the same but I'm just saying I love my LP from Gibson.

Theres' wood in it all right, its' freakin 20 pounds.

Anyway,

yes LPs from Epiphone are just as good if you get higher end Epi's, but just go with your heart since Les Pauls play so differently from each brand and within brands. Go and find one you like the tonality of, etc. etc.

Don't count off fender either, I enjoy playing their semi-hollow body Tele's and some are priced within your range.

get a gretsch. twangy ness of fender, so you get alot of classic fender sounds but...not through a fender! just suggestion

I know you said no fenders but imo a Fender Telecaster Thinline '72 could be perfect for this.
I play blues and rock on mine and it sounds great. Humbuckerssssssssss
