Hey guys,

I hate to be in this position again, but I'm not sure I'm getting the most out of my DSL100 head. It just doesn't sound that great to me: very trebly and....loose for lack of a better word.

My first thought is just that I'm eq'ing like a noob - so any suggestions on that front would be awesome and much welcomed.

Or, as I've been reading in a few threads on here, is it just a pretty rubbish amp and should I cut my losses, sell it and get something else?

cheers

Change the tubes.

anyone else reckon thats it?

Any other suggestions?

I also agree that you should change the tubes.
New pre and power tubes should fix things.

What EQ settings are you using?
What pedals are you using, if any?
What guitar are you running through it?

How old are your tubes do you know?
