I was thinking of unique things I could do for a future build and saw a bunch of 3/8" steel plating my dad got free from work laying around. I got to thinking, what if I routed a 4"x4" cavity 3/8" deep under the bridge, weld or bolt a tele style bridge to a 4"x4" piece of that metal, then glue or bolt it into the cavity?
Would this improve sustain?
Would there be a noticeable tonal effect, like installing a brass nut?
Would it sound shrill and crappy?
Anyone know?
