is agathis any good? i have a guitar made of agathis. im just wondering what are its tonal properties and is it any good in general

Yeah it's not a real quality wood, or at least no one uses it for quality instruments. I'd imagine it's pretty tone neutral though.

As above it doesn't have a great reputation...Mahogany FTW! BTW don't post serious guitar stuff in hte pit, you'll just get trolled.

Those 2 are pretty much opposites tone wise, a statement about wich one is better is thus always subjective.

Well IMO I think mahogany produces a brilliant sound, If it's good enough for Gibson and PRS - It's good enough for me
