Hey, i was wondering why are chorus pedals so popular when you only here them being used by weird 80's bands? do you ever here them being used by modern bands?
Please reply!

Strange, i hadn't noticed a demise in use of chorus pedals. the effect is just more prominent in 1980s recordings as they were used as the basis of a sound instead of enhancing it in the '80s because the music of that time was basically all about making the most of the new technology.
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

80s bands probably just overuse it or crank the depth. These days, it's used more subtly.

Light chorus on an acoustic is actually very nice. It's all about using it in moderation.
