I've read through lots of posts about tracing Ibanez guitars from the serial numbers, and I'm thinking of getting one that starts with a letter C. Now most of what people say is that that means it was made in Korea, but I put the serial into guitar dater project and it said it was made in the Terada factory.

Can anyone shed any light onto why this is?

It depends on what year the guitar was made.

So, what year was it?

Just read something that said during that period the letter related to the month it was made. So C would be March.

Does this sound about right? Thanks for the reply.

Edit: I've found a few things about it now, the C does mean March. Typical to find stuff about it after I've already posted. Sorry to time waste, but thanks for the reply.
