Hey,

I could do with some advice as to what to do.

My bands genre at the moment is that heavy alt rock type sound but my drummer, singer and other guitarist are all trying to get the band to become metal, Lamb of God style.

I really don't want to do this and i guess i feel a bit underappreciated aswell, i write all the lyrics and the skeleton to most the songs but my opinion isn't really valued that greatly.

Any advice on what to do would be much appreciated.

You have to talk to them about it, cos you will never be as good as you could be unless you all agree on what you want to do. If not you'll have to look for some other people to play with.

just don't settle on a specific genre ... just write songs that come to you, instead of just trying to write a metal or a hard rock song, just go with the flow ...

Let them write/play one metal song and they'll be happy.
If not quit the band.

Talk it out
If that doesn't work, copyright your songs and quit
Than they can't use em
