Hi UG, you know guitars with "natural" finishes? Is it an an actual paintjob, because I want to get a Fender Telecaster "Lite Ash" but where I will be buying it from only sells it in "natural" and I want a black one...

So, if I were to buy it, could I just paint it black with no hassle?

I'm certain that the place that you're buying it from would gladly order you a black one. Getting a professional looking finish is kind of a pain, and is not a simple matter of taking spray paint to the body.

Also, you can order one online.

First, nice choice, mine's a lovely one. Second, its the actual grain of the wood covered with a tough polyurethane finish. They make them in black, so just ask them to order one in for you.

It wouldn't be easy, you need paint, sandpaper, sanding sealer, primer, clear coat, a buffer, buffing compound, a lot of patience.

The store will order you a black one.
