Im not sure what they are called, but just a pedal that will let me go from one channel to another just by hitting the pedal, for example... If I am playing a song where during the verse is clean, and then in the chorus is drive, what kind of pedal is that and can you suggest any cheap but good ones?

If your amp has a lead channel and a clean channel, you want a footswitch.

If that's not what you're looking for, you want an Overdrive/Distortion pedal.

I am either getting a peavey vypyr 75W or a Spider 3 75W so could you help me out?

get the vypyr, it's a hundred times better than the spider

and you're looking for a footswitch to select between channels if your amp has more than one channel. if you've only got one channel then you'd be interested in a distortion/overdrive pedal which you can just click on when you need the distortion. if you've got a huge set up of pedals for a lead distortion tone i'd put it all into a loop and just hit the loop box when you want your distortion to come in.

but yeah, definitely the vypyr

so what kind of footswitch would be good with the vypyr?

Peavey Sanpera I. Or II if you want more options.

yep, you need to buy the vypyr footswitch the Sanpera I or Sanpera II, comes packed with an amp-full of features into the footpedal. im saving for it now

EDIT: You dont NEED to buy the footswitch, the amps still functional without it :P but its handy to have.

i'm not sure but i think the vypyr comes with a footswitch, since it'd probably need a special one because it's a super digital amp.

Wait it comes with it or you need to buy it?

The Sanperas are sold separately.
The Sanpera I is $80.
the Sanpera II is $180.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
