Has anyone used this?

Pickup booster

It looks sweet and it says its the same electronics as the pedal version, which I have heard is good. Anyone have any experience with this?

That was kind of the mentality I was thinking with. I was just wanting to see if someone had used it so i'd know more of what it does exactly. It is a boost type circuit right? Kind of like the Fender mid-boost circuit that Eric Clapton uses?

no this looks more like the 20dB boost switch for actives if you read the description.. Something like what alexi uses on his guitar..

50 kind of seems like a lot for an onboard booster to me.

EMG and GFS both make a similar model that uses a trim pot instead of a full size pot... the EMG model is like 35 and the GFS one is 25.

^Owned.

I suggest not screwing with the UGer with the best name on the site.

I don't see how prostitution is going to help out your string buzz...

use a EMG PA-2, or the afterburner, either work well.

How would what these do compare to what the mid boost does? Do the EMG ones just boost everything whereas the mid boost...boosts the mids? lol That's one thing i'm wondering, cause my first thought was the mid boost, but then I found this but i'm not totally sure what the difference is.

This boost everything on your guitar, It simply add's gain.

If you want to boost your mid's you need something else.

Okay, that's what I thought. I'm putting this in a strat that i'm building. I can find videos of the EMG boosts, but I can't find anything on the mid boost, I think the mid boost is more what i'm after but i'd like to hear what it sounds like when it's engaged.
