Heyy,

In need of some recommendations for a new amp.
I play mainly rock/metal, so something that will accompany those genres nicely!

My Budget:
£800 and below.

Is it for gigs/band practice or just home playing?
What types of metal*?
And are you willing to go used?

Just a word of advice - sell the majority of your BOSS pedals and add the money to the piggy bank or buy some better ones.

For the best tingle, use Original Source mint. That shit feels amazing on your balls.

Ayye i've realised I have quite a lot, but it brings a lot of versatility to my sound.
I can honestly make practically EVERY type of distortion.. using the pedals and my built in effects in the current amp.
It'll be for both really, planning on getting rid of my current amp completely.
So it needs to be large enough for band practise / gigs.

Yeah i'd be happy to go used, as long as it wasn't a complete state of an amp!

I'll go ahead and state the obvious.

6505 combo 212, or 112 if you dont want that much volume.

EDIT: If you want to wait for the 112, lol.
#5
6505 combos as stated, also look into some Mesa's
Peavey XXX combo *upgraded screen resistors, Tung-Sol's, and 6L6's*
Schecter Syn Std. * modded, scalloped, and worn*
Schecter C-1 Elite *still sexy*
Ibanez AEL 12-string

Right okay.
Only reason I'd advise about changing the BOSS pedals is that there's very often a much better pedal out there. - Not trying to be prejudgemental as I really don't know whether you think this, but BOSS aren't the be all and end all
Anyway... hmm.. amps... What kind of metal are we talking here? drop tuned stuff or thrash or what?

haha, I don't blame you for not wanting a Line 6

As for that I think a Peavey would be your best bet. Maybe a Windsor Stack? Or a Valveking if you can afford one.

XD.
hahahahaha, well seriously..

Peavey seems to pop up loads, So i will make sure I check them out!!
This will be my third amp ever, and as I've only been playing for about 6 years, I fancied enhancing my gear drastically.

Yeah they were recommended to me when I bought my amp, so I figured that I would pass on the knowledge.

Line 6 amps are awesome generally. Just not the Spider series

Peavey 6505/5150 or XXX if you want a brighter tone,
ENGL Screamer/Thunder,
Possibly a used Mesa F-30,
Laney GH100.

All in/around your price range.

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

I am leaning towards either the Peavey 6505 212 combo or the Laney GH100TI..
so i guess it's between those two?

EDIT: Would also like to know the dimensions of the Laney? ( Considering it's a stack.. )..

It might not even fit in my room hahahahaha.

Not the Bugera. If you can afford some of these other amps, why would you want a Bugera?

BUGERA IS NOT THE ANSWER TO EVERY AMP THREAD.

Fact.

If the GH100 stack is too big you could look at the TT combo too..that has the added bonus of being 2 channel.
