Where on the neck do you put your left thumb when playing leads on your electric guitar?

I don't recommend passive pickups for any kind of blues tone. Ideally, you'd want a passive pickup with a reasonably low level of output.

Depends if Im gonna be doing some bending I bend it over the top of the neck a bit cause it gives me more leverage for bending, otherwise its thumb behind the neck.

Yeah depending on what I'm playing I switch where I put it.

The majority of the time...
My thumb will be vertical on the fret board...
but then when i'm tapping it changes to horizontal i think?

It varies depending on what I'm playing.

to be honest, i've learned to use my thumb for the E and even A string (much like john mayer)

so usually if i'm not using it for playing i rest it behind the neck

And please, before anyone says it, I know this statement easily lends itself to "that's what she said!" Restrain yourselves.

i grip the neck like baseball bat most of the time but if i have to make long stretches(like in floods by pantera) ill rest in towards the middle for easier finger stretching

Haha same.

I usually have it behind. But my thumb tends to go up on top when I play
somethings. My thumbs usually lower if I'm playing standing or if whatever i'm playing is a bit of a stretch.

Always hit it from behind, because if the face is broken it wont matter.

Depends what I'm playing. I only tend to think about where it is if I'm struggling with something though, the rest of the time it just goes wherever its most natural.
