I've got a Gibson Explorer standard

Now about to get ideal amp...

I was lucky enough to be able to get my ideal guitar - and for a good price.

Ibanez S2120XAV. Got it for 500 bucks through a hookup. I love that guitar more than any I've ever played.
Do you feel warm within your cage?

And have you figured out yet -

My Explorer is exactly as I want it. It's ideal for me, so yes.
My LP is pretty much ideal too.
My Strat is getting there. I'm going to put a hot rails in the bridge, I think.

Give me three more frets and a clearer sound and I will. In the meantime, I'm fine and happy with it, so I'm looking at a tele.

No. I have a Squier Affinity Strat.

And I have, like, 4 different ideal guitars. One with 'buckers for rock, one with all single coils for blues, a Tele-style guitar for country stuff, and a really nice acoustic, just because I like to be awesome like that.

I'm happy with mine, but I would love to have a Gibson. I have an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Custom Shop with EMG's. I don't even know that the Gibson would sound all together much better. I think I just want the "GIBSON" name on my headstock. hahaha

That gold top that Dickey Betts is playing, that exact same one with the exact same pickups, the tone at 3:40 is pretty much the ideal neck pickup tone imo.

However, I will most likely never get that guitar, so it doesn't matter.

Hey, anything's possible; my uncle almost got Ed King's strat from his days in Skynyrd from Mr. King himself. A couple hundred more than he could afford. Shame too, I saw it when I went to the Rock & Roll hall of fame, that thing both seemed like it'd sound great and was in excellent condition for a 36-year old guitar that went on tour with as big a name as Lynyrd Skynyrd. He then sold me the strat he bought and upgraded the hell out of instead. Sometimes I wonder if I would've had Ed King's strat if he had bought it instead...

For now my rig is great, couldnt ask for more. I just need to find the right pickups for my Carvin. My amp should last me many years to come but you know, I wouldn't MIND having an ENGL powerball.

I'm happy with all my stuff, but I wouldn't say it's my ideal rig.I don't even know if I have an ideal guitar,my tastes and style varies so much that it'd be damn near impossible to fit all the features I want on one guitar.

my plan when i started buying guitars was to treat it as a trading card game, you use the ones you have and trade up to what you think is the best one.

at the moment i am pretty close, if my guitar had a single coil sound and a OFR instead of LFR (although my LFR is pretty damn good i must admit) i would say yes.

amps however are another story.

I just need pickup replacement

Maybe a better neck (Although it's fine, perfect is better then "good")

I love the wood, I love the body shape, balance is nice.

It was hanging on a wall in a local guitarshop, and I walked past it and with the different angles the colour slight changed.

Pictures don't do it justice really, you have to see it irl

Below is all (believe it or not) exactly the same finish, to give slight impression how light makes the colour change from dark brownish red to almost an orange red.

It's an Sa120, and it was extremely cheap (250 euro's/ around 330 dollars)

It's basically that 1 "odd guitar" that has wicked price/quality.

I don't know why, I'd rate it more as a 500 - 600 dollar guitar comparing to all the guitars I played in the 500-600 dollar range.

Full mahogany body

3pc maple neck with rosewood fret board.

At the moment, my Schecter gets the job done, but in the future (after I get this job I'm applying for) I'm saving $600 bucks, walking into House of Guitars, and buying the Washburn HM-20 they have on the wall.

Then saving some more and buying a Fender Deluxe amp...or maybe a Marshall half stack...
You know, you're probably reading this saying "Hey, I'm bored, maybe this'll be funny?"
It's not. Too bad. No, I am not refunding you those 6 seconds of your life. So :P
