I have a Dean Razorback in Drop A tuning, i also have a B.C Rich Deluxe V and today i decided to put that guitar in the same tuning to hear what guitar would sound better. The V has active pickups and sounds a lot better in that tuning than the Razorback does with passive pickups. I was wondering besides active pickups what are really good passive pickups for that low tuning?

I would just play the V in that tuning but the Dean is my favorite guitar...

Active pickups excell at clarity and note seperation. They often work well with low tunings and high gain for this reason.
There are cons to actives as well, but it is purely a preference thing.

Blackouts are supposed to be good for that. Musicians friend should have them.
