Any ideas on how to get a decent metal tone just by twiddling the Bass/Mids/Treble knobs?

Thanks alot

Tizz in my sig,

But I just wanted to know where to turn them to to get the best sound by using either my BOSS DS-2 or the MT-2 combined with the settings on my amp.

High Bass and Treble (e.i 7-8) and low Mids (1-4) but it really depends on your amp and what type of metal your playing....

I own an AVT50, here's what I do...

Bass at noon, Mids at 4o'clock, Treble at 3 o'clock, gain at 3o'clock.

Put your pedals away, they won't be needed.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

When you say mids low.. bass and treble high....

and then you say ... 3 oclock?

well that is rather high.. and 7 oclock .. would be nothing? lolss.

I think they meant on a scale of 1-10.

I meant on a clock.

Scooping the mids on an AVT sounds like ass... scooping mids generally sounds like ass, unless you're using a Recto or Mk or something else that's really, really mid heavy.

AVT's and valvestates have insane amounts of treble, i dont think the peopl here realize that. i'd keep bass at 6, mids at 7, and treble at 4.5. prescence idk, gain at 5.5. dont use the metal zone with it. maybe you could use a very light distortion with it, if you set it as a clean boost (drive all the way down).

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

I prefer to set my presence relatively high and lower my treble. Try that, your higher freq's will sound wider and more pleasing to the ear.

Dude, I use the Black background.
That's located at the bottom of the screen, incase you didn't notice?

EDIT:
Will change it just for you though.. man you must feel special.

A general rule is: don't put anything in white, because some people use the normal background, not the black one.

Who's fault is that?
