last weekend i just bought this gibson sg special ltd. with a blue mist finish from guitar center. I took it out of its hardshell case today, and on one of its horns it has a spot where it looks like the finish has been worn off. I haven't done anything to cause this, and i've been cleaning it. Should I be concerned about this?
I would take it back and get a different one, for the price that you paid.
Some of the less expensive Gibsons are coming with thinner laquer finishes on them and they wear easily according to some UG'ers. One poster complained about his LP Special discolouring from his underarm deoderant!
well it will get worn over time but you can always take it back and exchange it for a new one.
