Hey,
Im on the market for a new amp in the $350 price range, i dont want anything complicated just something simple and LOUD. Loud enough to hear over a drummer. Combo amps would be better but i will take recommendations for small half stacks. My style of playing is all about classic rock and early metal (if you consider led zeppelin metal which some people do).
I own a Gibson SG Standard

Take a look at the Vox Valvetronix VT 30, its a pretty nice amp that seems to fit your needs. I've heard they can get pretty loud but I don't know if it can be heard over a drum set, somebody else may be able to confirm this. I'm looking into buying one for myself.

anything but modeling amps, they are way too digital i just want an amp with a good clean channel so i can get a really good sound (with some additional pedals of course)

Lemme stop ya there. How can an analog amp sound digital?

I'd suggest an 50 watt vox valvetronix or a crate v18/v33.

Look into some used Blues Juniors, and an OD like a Tubescreamer or something like it for dirty sounds.

The only thing in your range new is the vox ad50 or whatever, or the crate v series. A classic 30 would be good, but I don't think you could find one that cheap.

You'll probably want more power if you want some cleans.

It's only 5 watts. The cab has nothing to do with how much power the amp makes.

On their higher end amps, yes.

I'm telling you-look into a used Blues Junior or even Pro Junior, both GREAT little amps with amazing cleans.

I just read around 15 reviews and all agreed that it has an amazon clean channel but that the distortion channel(s) are pretty much terrible

I'd stay away from the Fender 212R....or any solid state Fender for that matter.

FYI, this comes from a person that owns only Fender products. I just don't like solid state amps.

Save up a bit and get a Fender Blues Junior...a little tube amp that definitely knows how to scream.

Find a used Fener Hot Rod Deluxe. Simple and loud for a 1x12. Also look for a Roland JC120. Simple and louder (2x12).
