Not sure if this is in the right spot but I need a little bit of help. My music theory skills aren't too hot and I've got a chord progression I'd like to build a melody around and include a solo. The first pattern I play is Dm, Am, C, Em. Second pattern is Dm, Am, E. What would be a good scale to work with when using these particular chords? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

alittle more info might be helpful
Well, you have to find out what key your progression is in, then use the notes from that scale to make your melody. If you don't know what key it's in, you can post it and i'll hel you out.
What are the chords?
Hit enter a bit too early..its edited now haha
Dm, Am, C, Em is the first pattern. Second pattern is Dm, Am, E, Am
I'd use the A natural minor scale over the first pattern, and the A harmonic minor scale over the second.
