Step back from the scene of the crime,
Each day I come to find,
My head is hanging low,
For reasons I don’t know.
I don’t know which is true,
Is it me or is it you.
That puts the foot upon the ground,
And puts the grin back down.

Each day I feel alive,
It begins to grow inside,
Till I turn on the light,
But the picture didn’t come out right.
Started to think that I was there,
But then in a blank stare.
I have to look away,
I guess the time isn’t today.

So tie the laces on my shoes,
I’ve got nothing left to lose,
The sky dims all alone,
The rocks have all rolled home.
Some day I might be free,
From my own scrutiny.
Until then I’ll just be,
My own worst enemy.

Each day it comes and goes,
Burning as it grows.
When it’s time to say,
So long to yesterday.
I don’t know why,
I choose to say goodbye.
Cast the ship into the sun,
Ending where I’ve begun.
Waiting for the sky to clear,
Watch the clouds all disappear.
The storm rolls back in,
The rain falls down again.

So tie the laces on my shoes,
I’ve got nothing left to lose,
The sky dims all alone,
The rocks have all rolled home.
Some day I might be free,
From my own scrutiny.
Until then I’ll just be,
My own worst enemy.

Forget to regret,
Don’t wait or hesitate.
Step up to the plate
Before it’s too late.
You’ve seen it before and it will happen again,
Sometimes you strikeout before the win.

That’s how it goes; it’s the name of the game.
Not every day ends quite the same.
We can come to see, that we don’t need,
To be our own worst enemy.

So tie the laces on my shoes,
I’ve got nothing left to lose,
The sky dims all alone,
The rocks have all rolled home.
Some day I might be free,
From my own scrutiny.
Until then I’ll just be,
My own worst enemy.

So I’ll tie the laces on shoes,
Forget my former shades of blue.
Escape the tyranny,
Of my own sanity.
Some day I will be free,
From my own scrutiny,
And I’ll no longer be,
My own worst enemy.

Step back from the scene of the crime,
Each day I come to find,
My head is hanging low,
For reasons I don’t know.
I don’t know which is true,
Is it me or is it you.
That puts the foot upon the ground,
And puts the grin back down.

The rhyming is very forced it seems to me

Each day I feel alive,
It begins to grow inside,
Till I turn on the light,
But the picture didn’t come out right.
Started to think that I was there,
But then in a blank stare.
I have to look away,
I guess the time isn’t today.

Once again the rhyming is forced and so far I have no idea what your talking about

So tie the laces on my shoes,
I’ve got nothing left to lose,
The sky dims all alone,
The rocks have all rolled home.
Some day I might be free,
From my own scrutiny.
Until then I’ll just be,
My own worst enemy.

This is a good verse but the rhyming is still forced

Each day it comes and goes,
Burning as it grows.
When it’s time to say,
So long to yesterday.
I don’t know why,
I choose to say goodbye.
Cast the ship into the sun,
Ending where I’ve begun.
Waiting for the sky to clear,
Watch the clouds all disappear.
The storm rolls back in,
The rain falls down again.

So tie the laces on my shoes,
I’ve got nothing left to lose,
The sky dims all alone,
The rocks have all rolled home.
Some day I might be free,
From my own scrutiny.
Until then I’ll just be,
My own worst enemy.

Forget to regret,
Don’t wait or hesitate.
Step up to the plate
Before it’s too late.
You’ve seen it before and it will happen again,
Sometimes you strikeout before the win.

That’s how it goes; it’s the name of the game.
Not every day ends quite the same.
We can come to see, that we don’t need,
To be our own worst enemy.

So tie the laces on my shoes,
I’ve got nothing left to lose,
The sky dims all alone,
The rocks have all rolled home.
Some day I might be free,
From my own scrutiny.
Until then I’ll just be,
My own worst enemy.

So I’ll tie the laces on shoes,
Forget my former shades of blue.
Escape the tyranny,
Of my own sanity.
Some day I will be free,
From my own scrutiny,
And I’ll no longer be,
My own worst enemy.

The rhyming is very forced through out the whole thing, I dont know how long you have been writing, just remember not every song you write has to rhyme. Also I didnt understand the message you are trying to get across, if there is one. If you dont mind criting one of mine the links are in my sig just pick one, perfeably enter the abyss though

The song has a very slow flow to it, so when put to music it moves quite nicely actually I think.
