So i watched kerrang and the other channels a few times recently and all i saw was poppy emo stuff and the usual crap. Its weird because a year ago you would see KSE or Machinehead anytime. Is metal out of fashion again?

Id put this in the metal forum but im interested to hear non metallers opinions.

I'm pretty sure that caring about whether it's in fashion defeats the purpose of metal.

Stop worrying about what's in fashion. Seriously, have you ever met someone who was completely in fashion that you wanted to hang out with?

Tbh, nothing i listen to is in fashion. My brother actually didn't know who Pearl Jam was. And Flogging Molly? Who the **** are they?

Be unique. Don't give a **** what everyone else thinks.

Only losers try to do the whole "rebellious" thing...
Punks are rebels...
Metalheads are metalheads...Whether it was out of style or in style doesn't matter,as long as its METAL...

but to answer the question, yes, real metal is very much out of style,I don't know any real metal bands that were formed after 1995 (Feel free to throw out your zomgfavmetalbands)

Metal has pretty much always been out of fashion in my opinion. Dont get me wrong I love it, its just never been as mainstream as pop or rap. Theres always gonna be those loyal listeners (Like Me) who are still gonna listen to it no matter if its in the mainstream or net, hell I have a metallica video from 88 playing on youtube right now. So whether or not its in fashion or not is irrelevant because it will always be alive and well.

I dislike metal?

Does that count as it not being in fashion?

Yeah man, metal went out with the invention of gunpowder. The metal the soldiers wore did not protect themselves against muskets and pistols.

Judging by your name alone, and the fact that it contains the words "spoon" and "shaq"

Metal encourages unnecessary violence and hate towards others. Its topic matters are mainly against humanity. Although I guess it doesn't stop the majority of people on this thread from listening to it, I don't like to be associated with such music. Plus it's loud and basic.

Long live creative arts!
