Well guys I know I said I'm getting an Agile but my parents are like totally against buying anything online. Which isn't too bad though because like many of you have said it's always better to go the store and test the guitars in question.

So budget is 350. No higher. Strictly 350.
And recently my friend gratefully "donated" (borrowed and never gave back) a JCM 800 100w that he didn't use anymore. So no need for new amp.

So throw em at me. One you'd find at GC or at a local Strait music or something. I play everything. Just from plain old Rolling stones to Bring me the Horizon. Drop tunings in B, C, D. Weird tunings like DADGAD for Kashmir(talent show staple!) and EAEAC#E and standard too. So yeah acoustics, distortion, the whole 9 yards.

Throw em at me!

Can you buy used?

I can't really think of a good guitar I would recommend to anyone for under $400, aside from maybe an Agile, but you already spoke about that.

If you do go for used, check out some Schecters. Skip the Omen series, those aren't very good, but the Damien series is actually very good for around $400-$450 new. I'm sure that if you looked, you could find one used for 350ish.

Dude just go to the shop and get u a jackson or ibanez. itll do what you want without killin the budget. I have a 300 dollar dinky hardtail and after i replaced the pickups and tuners it plays great and i get compliments on the tone. BTW i play professionally at a local church.

yeah but i dont like ibanezs without finished necks.
BTW more criteria: it has to have a finished neck, like gibsons do. i cant stand the feels of the wood on the necks. except strats, and by the way are the $399 standard strats any good?

yeah i know i said strictly 350 but for a good strat my dad may be able to do it with enough convincing...

When you break a bass string, that snapping sound is the sound of six dollars going down the crapper.

I got a Schecter Gryphon that plays beautifully. $349 I think. Really great guitar. Maybe down the road you'll want to switch out the Pups, but it is a great guitar. Schecter makes good high quality instruments. My Gryphon has lasted me a few years and aside from a few wiring problems it plays great.

I recently lowered the pickups and it is so much smoother to play, both tonally and physically. It is seriously easier to play now. Also it is pretty much indestructible. I love it.

Guitar Center in Boise, ID like three years ago? I'm not entirely sure. I know it was the guitar center because the salesman who sold it to me is still there.

Here is the link

It is a guitar center exclusive I think. It is a great guitar though. Since you are playing through A JCM800 you might hear some more flaws in the pickups than you would through a SS amp, but they are not bad for stocks. You're more likely to notice a difference in tone if you swapped the pickups, but whatever.

By the way, what cab are you playing that JCM through? Or is it combo?
