So pit, what games do you think have the most awesome endings?

For me it would have to be F.E.A.R. followed by Half Life 2 Episode 2, look them up on youtube if you haven't seen them, but only if you definitely won't be playing them, don't spoil it for yourself!

Super Mario Land for GameBoy. You get to play it again, except 3 times as hard!

Final Fantasy VI (Decent ending that wraps up every character's story). Metal Gear Solid 4 (1:45 cutscene ftw).

MGS3 had a much better ending... it was a better game in all
But MGS4 was still incredible
Some people wait a lifetime, some simply accept...

...Some of us crash land, some of us eject...

...Some restore the blood flow, some just let it go and bleed...

...Some of us obsess, some move on to something new

But MGS3 just plain sucked as a game. I only got to see the ending once because it was such a tedious game.

I hate you.

In other news, Half-Life's Fetus boss + G-man was a pretty trippy ending.

Nope. It was incredible. You're wrong.
I loved that game... but I can see why not everyone would like it

IMO:
2>1>4>3.
Octocamo was the best thing to happen to MGS. I hate having to go through all the menus just because my index is stupidly low after moving ten steps.

Yeah everybody i knew was confused and got so annoyed that they didnt watch the bit after the credits so they thought he was dead. So when i told them he was still alive they ended up watching it all again.

I liked the Mile High Club mission at the end of CoD4 to be honest (at regular level, mind). I fucking hate that level with a passion that lies deep within my groin like a flaming, golden hawk on veteran level.

I seriously hope you're kidding. N64 may have been good for the time, but it's a massive flawed console.

The MGS endings are OK. MGS4 had too many cutscenes as a whole though.

I really don't remember many game endings to be fair. The worst has to be Spore though, worst-ending-ever.

It still had a lot of memorable games though.

Halo 1 had an awesome ending...as a 12 year old playing that game i was watching Master Chief's every move in awe and after playing through all of that game i was blown away by the fact that there could be even MORE to come.

other than that one game though...i can't really think of any games that really got my attention. the whole Gears of War story was pretty good i'll admit...but there aren't any other games that are coming to my memory at the moment.

Word.

"And then the sorceress went back in time to before she was cooked, saving herself and resulting in a paradox that created a parallel world where toys were buried as witches and defecated upon and you find out the real sorceress behind it all was the great santa ape that died thousands of years ago during the impenetrable quickening..." or something like that.
Seriously though, beautiful ending.

GTA San Andreas. In fact all GTA's, as well as all MGS's and Final Fantasies. Kingdom hearts 2 has an amazing ending.

+1 for Portal

Mine would have to be Shadow of the Collosus though, that game is still ridiculously beautiful.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake, you just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

i agree to an extent. im beginning to have a problem with gears of wars. anybody else notice how similar the whole "infected locust" thing is to the flood? just wondering if anybody else thought that. but i swear to god, if in the third one, the locust and gears team up, im gonna freakin start yellin "HALO COPY!!!"
