John Petrucci signature guitar.

Made out of an ancient chinese oaktree in his backyard, with melt-proof string because he can shred so fast they melt right off, and with the extra "Killzone", and "World Domination" modes on the switch.

Also, they're painted by Micheal Angelo. The guy who painted jesus on that ceiling, not that guitar noob.

Seriously, though, Ibanez RG2120xvv, the orange PGM or the PGM 500 would have to be my favorites. along with the RG550, 1550M, EBMM JP7 w/ Piezo bridge.

I tried it out in store.

Great neck, nice n light, good tuning stability. Overall a good guitar. I didn't but it cause I generally only buy guitars over a grand now.

I love Strats, but only American ones. The Mex. ones aren't so good.

There's too many good ones... so like, combine all of those together into some mythical legendary shape-shifting axe said to hold the power of the gods, and then come find me.

I assume if it were to assume human form it would look something like this:

I'm guessing you haven't tried any.

Anyway, I have no specific favourites. I love a bunch for different things. If I had to pick one to have as a signature though, a tele, albeit one modded like hell.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

I have to say the strat or any stratstyled guitar is perfect. They're just so comfy and fit your bodies form so smoothly. Not to mention the perfect positioning of the strat's volume knob and pickup switch. When I think about it just seems so cliche of an answer to this thread, but I have to strats all the way.

les paul junior mainly cause i pretty much grew up on billy joe armstrongs playing but also i love the look of it and sound of just one pickup it adds for more sustain from the extra wood where the neck pickup would be

1959 Telecaster Custom with the inlay... or a 1969 Telecaster Thinline with rosewood... or a 1969 Stratocaster, sunburst, with a maple fretboard... or a 1959 Stratocaster, sunburst.... it's tough.

i wanted something more versatile so i got a Schetcer c-1 classic. i love it. I wouldnt trade it even if I could get more "legendary" guitars (LP or Tele), not saying its better, but its more suited for me. LPs and Teles are very nice for their own things, don't get me wrong, but same applies for C-1C.
