I've been told it can be used for removing certain parts from a song, like taking away the drums, or bass or whatever and segragating them so you can hear them on their own.. I have downloaded audacity, and now I'm stuck... What the bugger do I have to do remove and listen to certain bits after I import a song?

you can remove the voice (partly, if you pay close attention, you can hear it), but other instruments... I highly doubt it, it would almost be impossible to, in case of a 2 or 3 guitar band, to remove 1 of the guitars...

No you can't.

Its like layers on photoshop.

When you make it MP3, the layers all flatten out into one.

The only way to do that is to get the master (or raw nowadays) file.
