Well, that's what I'm trying to find. These are the most depressing ones I can find:

I've also heard of some modern symphony, but I can't remember the name. Oh well. Just try to find a song more depressing than the poster above you.

Madcap is clearly testing if the "New Thread" button is still working.

It is.

....and Moonlight Sonata is the most depressing.

Once I had a Woman - Jimi Hendrix.

There is also a Hendrix bootleg I have somewhere, I don't even know what song he is playing but just from his guitar playing and singing you can tell that he is exhausted to the bone. His soul has been exhausted and he is depressed. You can just tell. It's almost like looking at something you know you are not supposed to see.
There may be times when it is impossible to prevent injustice, but there should never be a time when we fail to protest it.

The Isle of Summer is one of the most depressing songs I've heard. I don't know why, but it just seems so sad.

Shit really?! The other 400 threads I've made didn't really hint at that.
I thought the creation of two within minutes would have created some sort of paranoia

this thread is elliott smith vs. ian curtis. there are no other artists that have so blatantly and endlessly wallowed in despair, and both men proved that they weren't fucking around when they said they were horribly depressed.

A lot of Nirvana songs, Something in the Way, You Know You're Right etc.

I always thought some Offspring songs were pretty off too, like The Kids Aren't Alright.

Some John Frusciante as well, Smile From The Streets That You Hold and Life's a Bath come to mind.

And some Elliot Smith songs as well.

Back in the 70's I decided to take all the frets off Jaco's Bass thinking he would play worse. Man did that backfire.

I agree. A lot of John's stuff strikes a chord in me, songs like Dying Song or Time Tonight are pretty depressing.

Dude I got these strings the other day that couldn't be tuned to higher than 4 octaves below middle C then I realized that they were shoelaces and they weren't making any sound at all.

I find the 14th symphony one of the most not-depressing pieces of Beethoven. He wrote while being in heavily in love, it was more of a love song. I like it man

When did Ludwig pull a Jesus and compose 5 more symphonies?

But yes I agree with you, moonlight is not really depressing, it's kinda calm and serene.
