Hey
I'm after some tips and pointers on how to get a loose replica of that old school Peter Tägtgren style production, along the lines of the Rotting Christ album Khronos, or even the Garden of Shadows style sound they have on Oracle Moon.

I want something nice and warm, with some power. Some tips would be nice whether it be about mixing or any other stage, even tones...

I do realize there's no way I'll get a sound near that but i want to try something similar, I've gotta work with what I've got. I'm using a Toneport GX (got the metal shop, FX junkie and Collector's Classics upgrades) with a Ibanez RG2228 8-string through Cubase SX3 and using Drumkit from Hell.

Any pointers would be nice!

Also, ways to stop the drumkit clipping constantly? Even when i turn it down it still clips at times! And can i place effects on the kit to make it sound a bit more real? If so, how?

I have no idea how to help you out with the above...but...I had to mention that your sig is quite possibly the best I have ever seen.

Period.

Well i hope you get something that can be close to the sound you want. If you can get your source (guitar settings etc) sounding like you want it to, then you should be able to record it like that.
