Heyas =]

Here's my Esp LP build i'm doing for my HSC project at school. (Design Major)
WAS going to be a viper but thought this was more appealing :P Using templates from metalwarrior from these forums (kudos!)

Aight so heres the Details

-24 Fret Figured Maple Neck, Pre-slotted Rosewood Fingerboard with Graphtec Nut.
-Paua offset Dot Inlays
-Silky Oak body, Figured Maple carved top.
-Using 2 Humbuckers from Guitarfetish.com (fat paf & 59's)
-Not sure on headstock shape yet, might need templates.

-Installing a Silicon Fuzzface created for under $10 (From another forum)
-I'm aiming to install 2 miniswitches to activate Phase On/Off and Coiltapping.

Heres the Finish im aiming for

A Pretty Bad Mockup of what it'll look like (minus the gibson headstock)

The Neck Wood and Trussrod!

Silicon Fuzz Face

Parts from Guitafetish + Australian Luthier Supplies

Pickups

More pictures on their way! Still need the Top, fingerboard, fretwire and inlays from ormsby but they won't reply =/

Just need a bit of help from you guys.

-Need opinions for headstock shape (3x3)
-How I can get the finish in the photo
-If anyone can draw me a modified circuit
Heres what im using currently

I need it to incorporate These:

To be like this. (Its a basic chain idea and in NO WAY a circuit. Move the Fuzz + ON/OFF switch AFTER the volume/tone, i misdrew the picture.

The setup i need is to select, Neck/Both/Bridge and the 2 switches to apply (phase In or Out & tap/hum) based on whichever pickup is selected. Wandering if this is possible and how i would be able to do this :S

For the finish, Stain the top black, Sand it back, so it looks how you want, then stain the outside red, then sand back what you need to, Should work good.

EDIT: also can i get the link for that fuzz you got from another forum?

I got the blank from school, was a scrap which had some carving practice on it by someone else. So it was free. a Bit thin though. almost an Inch. So i'm compensating with my top. Thats if ormsby reply..

Metalwarrior and tatersalad, i've pmed you the layout. Theres a LOT more on that website.

Thanks for the finishing help :]

Know if i can simply use furniture clearcoat on my guitar? I've seen a glass finish coat at Bunnings which was really appealing indeed.

ESP LP, you say? Methinks something like http://www.mcinturffguitars.com/06-Guitars/ForumLimitedEdition/Details/FLE_Headstock.jpg or http://www.cs.adelaide.edu.au/~francis/guitar/headstock-rear-reduced.jpg would look pretty nifty

Anyone else see the irony in smashing a guitar that says "peace and love" ?

Thanks for that, and your welcome.

Meh, I would assume so, Just apply it, sand it down with a high grit, then buff.
Understand all of it?

yeh ;P well more for tonal quality or if it yellowed over time as opposed to using a particular nitrocellous/urethane finish.

Thanks for that, yeh i was thinking something similiar, a headstock that narrowed to the point. Any other similiar ideas?

For the stain I think you stain the maple black then sand it off so that only the valleys are still black and then stain is white and put a red candy over the white stain.

I suppose I could use a link to the site for the fuzzface as well.

In regards to the wiring, I thought you needed a DPDT switch to coil tap. I might be wrong.

TS, can i ask what parts you bought from guitar fetish and what type of wood the body blank is?
#18
I am planning to use a DPDP switch ^^

From gfs i bought the 2 humbuckers
an extra set of pup rings (not as good as the ones on pickups)
pickguard screws (didnt need these)
gotoh like tuners
white hookup wire
Stop tail piece
tuneomatic bridge (large bushings)
Audio socket plate (free socket)
the electronics you can see in the photo (will be buying more)

I bought the nut and neckplate from an australian store. (australian luthier supplies)
