Running through a Blackheart (not th line6 in my sig)... I need a good OD pedal to get as close as possible to a '68 plexi, similar to Angus Young.

I can't use the amps natural OD, as I won't always be able to crank the amp.

Pedal isn't too much of a budget, i'll indulge if it's worth it.

MI Audio Crunch Box.

It's a Plexi in pedal form.

I tried it out in store.

Great neck, nice n light, good tuning stability. Overall a good guitar. I didn't but it cause I generally only buy guitars over a grand now.

Crunch Box, OCD, some of the pedals from Lovepedal, ZVEX Box of Rock, EH English Muff'n is OK but definitely not the best, and maybe the Radial Hot British or Plexitube but I haven't tried those.

Seems like the Crunchbox or the OCD would be my best bet.

Yea, although if you're gonna use it through the Spider in your sig, don't expect anything great.

Get the OCD - turn to HP mode, set tone to like... 3 oclock. turn drive down and slowly turn it up to a sweet spot... HP mod plus the high-freq boost on the OCD is plexi heaven. although i would suggest a Menatone King of the Britains. Its got a voice swicth that goes from plexi bass channel to plexi lead channel to the standard voicing.
