Dog Fashion Disco(DFD) is an avante-garde/experimental metal band from Rockville, Maryland. They were influenced by Mr. Bungle and used many different musical styles(70's psychedelic, jazz, piano recital, circus music, heavy metal, and sometimes orchestral) to define their sound.
The band broke up and some of the members went on to form Polkadot Cadaver.
Anyone ever heard of them?
If so, any opinions?

never even knew someone could use those sounds(circus music mainly) to
make metal music and never heard of em

I wouldn't really call them metal, but they're a very good and original band.

They're considered to be a metal band, but I kind of agree with you.

They aren't metal...
None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.

Not metal, neither's Pokadot Cadaver

Metal is a sub-genre of metalcore since metalcore is more popular therefore better.

^ No, they way predate MSI and share no members.

DFD are pretty cool, I used to like them alot around 2000-2002, lost interest later on, but still cool from time to time.

Personally, I'd put this in nu-metal.
No gods, no countries, no masters.
More guitar, less Ultimate-Guitar.
Be Serious.

i guess i'm getting them mixed up with some other band. A friend of mine showed me Dog Fashion Disco, and whatever band is actually an MSI side project.
