I'd just thought it'd be fun to see what setting other people use, try them out on my amp, etc. So...what are your settings? Searchbar came up with nothing.

for me...

on a Crate GTD65 overdrive channel (only one that I use)
Gain-3
Bass-5
Mids-10
High-7
Reverb-5

If I want a clean sound, I just turn down my guitars volume.

Because of my amp's overwhelming bass, something like this; all are out of 12.

On an Omega Amps modded Hot Rod deluxe:

Drive: 5
Treble: 7
Bass: 3 ish, sometimes four
Middle: 9
Presence: 8ish
Reverb: 2

For cleans, I use the same settings but roll back the guitar's tone control a little past halfway.

I agree that it's a midrange instrument; however, I do believe it should sound like a guitar rather than an overdriven bullhorn.

But, if that's what works for you...

I thought that might annoy you.

Slight misinterpretation.

I do that to get my sound. Which is a good sound.

You do realise that flaws have created the best tones in history.

What do you think a Marshall is? It was a copy of a Fender that they messed up. ETC

Marshall MG Half Stack
(Clean Channel only, pedal used for distortion/overdrive)
Bass - 6
Mid - 7
Treble 5

Those are the only settings on the clean channel, I use a BOSS OS-2 for distortion. There are no official ways to define the settings, but I have the drive at 1/2 way, the blend about
40% of the way around, and the tone at about 40% as well.

All this together gives me the good sound that my MG gives me. As for the gain knob on the clean channel, it is pretty much a volume knob when you are not using the crunch addition.

*I also use the bridge pickup on my guitar, volume and tone all the way up.
