hey, i have a squire special stratocaster and i love the feel of it but as i progress im starting to relize the muddyness of the pickups. my question is would putting a set of real good pickups on it improve the sound and by how much?

well yeah. do you have basic fender pickups or are they a special higher quality fender model? i had duncans on my jackson and i swapped my bridge for a dimarzio super distortion and it did make a difference. id say go get them. but if youre going to get a whole new guitar soon.. id wait.

You'd be far better off getting a new guitar with better stock pups; what amp are you using? If it's a cheap solidstate combo, it's probably not much cop, and you should look into a new amp, before worrying about pups.

Don't bother with a pickup upgrade then; it won't make much difference. That amp is alright, but you're gonna want to look into better amps before swapping pickups. And since Squiers aren't that great...well, you're looking at a whole new rig, really.
