when i sit down with my bass, my left hand is not free to move around the neck. If i pull my left hand away, the neck falls towards the ground. To play, i am forced to grip my bass like a guitar with my thumb over the top. Any suggestions?

the problem isn't my strength. If i play, and pull my left hand away, the bass will slip till the neck is at a 4 or 5 o'clock position

Try tilting the bass to the right (right handed?) so the neck points upwards more, and move your right forearm closer to the bass to pin it in.

I, myself, choose not to have sex. My parents probably did, so therefore it is uncool. Maybe next you can start wearing sweater-vests. Fag.

What bass is it?
A weight in the control cavity might help the neck dive, but if you cant move your hand enough its probably the way your sitting

Wow.

Did you really have to come here to figure that out?
