My old theory teacher was a really cool guy, I'd pay him just to talk to me.

But as far as guitar gods go Jeff Loomis seems pretty down to earth Paul Gilbert too as TS mentioned.

^ I'd tap that!

Paul Gilbert would definitely be a chill nig to get lessons from.
But I think he'd teach too many scales and ****.

John Petrucci or Petteri Sariola would be bomb ass to learn from

Steve Morse, John Petrucci, Albert Lee

those all seem like good guys.

I met Petrucci in May, he was awesome. I got to play one of his 7-string MM JP 7s. (for only like 1 min though)

Myung was pretty chill too, although he didnt say anything to me at all until i spoke to him.

Portnoy was by far the most outgoing and loudest too. He smokes too if im not mistaken.

i've always found pop to be harder to play than metal... especially shred metal... it's just really fast tremolo picking and the occasional palm mute... and the only chords you have to worry about are power chords...

I'd love to get taught by Russell Lissack, also, do you have any idea how many times this thread has been done before?
