I'm learning some songs from Senses Fail that require a lot of palm muted notes in quick succession on a single string, but I have trouble alternative picking each note. What do you guys recommend I should do to speed up my alternative picking? (songs, exercises, tips, etc.)

Keep practicing and do it with a metronome.

I met this chick I really liked and wanted to practice sex, so I practiced on some guy I met at a gas station...

YOu know how you can practice just down picking faster? practice JUST up picking as well and then try alternate picking again.

1. Down pick at (xxx) bpm
2. Up pick at same bpm.
3. Alternate pick at same bpm.
4 increase bpm, repeat.

As i've found out lately, you want to make sure when you're alternate picking to keep your picking motions really really small. If you increase the metronome but are using big picking motions there is only so fast you can go. Check out Paul Gilbert's picking exercises. He = Alternate picking master.
